DMSO Treats Periodontal Disease

While DMSO is not recognized by the FDA as a safe form of medication, in any other use than treating urinary tract infections, it has been reported as successful in clearing up tooth decay and gum disease.

In the 1980’s, pioneering dentists, primarily in Poland and Russia used DMSO on patients suffering from gum disease and tooth decay.  Due to the natural anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties of DMSO, it has positive reaction towards combatting these issues while also offering pain relief from tooth decay and periodontitis.

Periodontitis is a disease that affects the gums, bones and periodontal membrane.  Bacteria on food debris accumulate at the gum line where it proceeds to develop plaque-the hard deposits of tartar.  Not only can tartar be unsightly, it also causes adverse health issues, ranging from bad breath, periodontal disease, and tooth decay.

This tartar accumulates in the crevices between the gums and teeth, forming pockets, which lead to inflammation of the gums, oftentimes producing bad breath, due to the bacteria overgrowth, inflammation of the gum tissue which causes bleeding and ulceration. This plaque spreads down below the gum line into the underlying periodontal membrane and bone (alveolar), which then causes the teeth to become loose and fall out.  Periodontal disease can be the result of poor oral hygiene as well as ill-fitting crowns and dentures, which cause food particles to get trapped at the gum line.

The initial phase of treatment for periodontal disease is periodic scraping to remove the buildup of this bacteria and plaque.  Periodontal disease is the number one cause of tooth loss in people middle-aged and older.  When treating patients with periodontitis, dentists proceeded to use DMSO in a combination of other drugs; it quickly starts working towards killing off the bacteria while also reducing inflammation and discomfort.   DMSO has long been recognized for it’s pain-relieving aspects.

  4. I have been experimenting with DMSO. One thing this article fails to mention regarding causes of tooth/gum disease is wisdom tooth extraction. I had mine removed in my mid-twenties and had perfectly healthy no cavity teeth. Not only was the extraction sloppy with bits of tooth left behind but I was not warned of the seriousness of not allowing any food to touch the sockets while they healed. I recommend people do what they can to keep their wisdom teeth and suffer the discomfort of them growing in and keep an eye on them through x-rays. Even though I had my wisdom teeth removed my teeth still bunched up in the front it didn't matter. So keep your wisdom teeth and use 12% hydrogen peroxide

    1. If you are on a healing regimen, blend your food and suck it through a straw.

    2. Do not let money-grubbing dentist convince you to have your children's wisdom teeth removed. I can tell you from experience that I'd be a hundred percent healthy had never seen one doctor in my life. Western doctors are illness makers and once they make you sick they make you your slave for a lifetime
